On Tuesday, February 21 at 6:30 p.m. SHELLY & MIKE SACKETT will offer, maybe for the last time, the most ambitious class on this schedule. Appropriately, we offer it on Mardi Gras this year. We call it A TASTE OF NEW ORLEANS ($70) but it’s a whole lot more than just a taste. We begin with Shrimp de Jonghe, which, although it did not originate in the Big Easy, certainly typifies a lot of New Orleans dishes. This is followed by a (mock) Turtle Soup, so rich you’ll think you’re royalty. Our entrée is a Garlic & Herb Crusted Beef Tenderloin, served en croute with a Marchand de Vin Sauce and accompanied by Petite Pois à la Française and Creole Baked Tomatoes. Our dessert has to be French Market Beignets and Chicory Coffee, mais non? This is a feast, and we celebrate the most magnificent food city in the country. You really don’t want to miss this one; the chance may never come again.
Don't miss SHELLY's other classes:
