SHELLY’s first class on this schedule is one that always fills up, and we laugh every time it does. TRADITIONAL CAST IRON COOKING ($44), on Tuesday, January 10 at 6:30 p.m. is just what it says it is. A menu of old recipes many of our grandmothers knew how to make, in cast iron Dutch ovens and skillets. We love old recipes, and try to keep the goodness of some of these old traditions alive, and not only because of their great taste! We’ll have a Wilted Spinach Salad with Hot Bacon Dressing served with Skillet Corn Bread. Our main course is Southern Fried Chicken, nothing fancy, just fried chicken, served with “Cream” gravy and Can’t Fail drop Biscuits, also baked in a skillet, and for dessert, a made-from-scratch Pineapple Upside Down Cake. Although you won’t want to make all these things at one meal, you will come to love most if not every one of these old recipes.
On this schedule SHELLY has two classes of her own, and one with MIKE:
Monday, January 30 at 6:30 p.m.
Hot, Wok and Easy!
Tuesday, February 21 at 6:30 p.m.
A Taste of New Orleans
