 On this schedule, LELIA, with her friend, (and ours) SHERI DRABIN, will repeat the most often requested class in our school on Tuesday, July 19 at 6:30 p.m. Her BIG-TIME SUSHI CLASS ($75) sells out every time we offer it, and we usually have a long waiting list. This class will include instruction in making Sushi Rice, Hoso Maki (including both inside and outside rice rolls), Futo Maki, which are large multi-fish rolls, and Nigiri Sushi. Only one recipe features raw fish, all the other fish and seafood items will be cooked. This class will involve hands-on participation and you will make your own “inside” and “outside” rolls. You will also take home your own sushi mat, to make sushi at home. If you want to understand how sushi is made, why it is so popular around the world , and why it is expensive (this class is really a bargain sushi dinner), then don’t wait to sign up. The class always is full, and it may be the last time it’s offered this year. Don’t wait until tomorrow for this one or you may be disappointed!
LELIA GENTLE is retired. The St. Matthew’s Seafood Company and Stan’s Fish Sandwich restaurant are both closed now, so we are hoping we will see more of LELIA in our kitchen.
