 On Monday, March 1 at 6:30 p.m. LELIA GENTLE will repeat her BIG-TIME SUSHI CLASS ($75), ably assisted by SHERI DRABIN. She will include instruction in making Sushi Rice, Hoso Maki (including both inside and outside rice rolls), Futo Maki, which are large multi-fish rolls, Gunkans or sushi “boats,” and Nigiri Sushi. Only one recipe features raw fish, all the other fish and seafood items will be cooked. This class will involve hands-on participation and you will make your own “inside” and “outside” rolls. You will also take home your own sushi mat, to make sushi at home. If you want to understand how sushi is made, why it’s so popular around the world and why it’s expensive (this class is really a bargain sushi meal), then don’t wait to sign up. It sells out every time it’s offered.

LELIA GENTLE owns STAN’S FISH SANDWICH Restaurant in Louisville. LELIA has been teaching cooking classes for many years and I don’t know anyone who knows more about seafood than she does. On this schedule, LELIA has three classes; one’s a repeat of a class which always sells out, and the others are new menus for us.
As we have done previously, we have arranged with LELIA for you to order fish and/or seafood through the auspices of STAN’S FISH SANDWICH RESTAURANT, which she will bring freshly frozen on the day of class. You can pick up your fish order between 4:30 and 6:00 p.m. the day of class. Out-of-towners and those taking the class will be able to get their orders after class. All fish orders must be placed FIVE DAYS BEFORE CLASS, in order for LELIA to be able to bring you the very freshest in seafood. You may order directly by calling 502-895-0167.
