Quarterly Riddle Contest:
The riddle for January, February, and March comes from history:
I love the old terms used in roadside diners during the last century.
Can you identify the two foods that were described with the terms
‘Boston strawberries’ and ‘baled hay’?

(Hint: This quarter's riddle refers to a very common and highly underrated food). GOOD LUCK! Stop in to enter your answer sometime during this January, February, and March.
The last riddle went as follows: “I am actually the seed of a fruit.
I contain more protein than vitamins.
I can be red, or black, or brown, or white, or
yellow, or green, or spotted or striped.
What am I?” The correct answer to the last riddle was: Beans. Our most recent winners were Tamara Allison of New Harmony, Becky Coble and Chris Riley, both of Newburgh, IN. Congratulations to all of you!
(To enter our little contest, you will have to stop in and write your answer on a proper entry form, which will include your name, address, and phone number. On the first of each month we empty the entry box, separate all the correct answers, put those back into the box, and draw one winner per month. The prize is a $25.00 gift certificate, good for class registrations or merchandise.
There is a limit of one entry per household per month! We will also allow only one winner per household per calendar year. The winners’ names will be published, along with the correct answer, in the next quarter). |
