JO DEE CARL is one of our newer instructors, although she’s not new to our kitchen. Jo Dee has worked with us, both in and out of our kitchen for more than 10 years. She also teaches “Foods and Nutrition” at Reitz High School for 15 years now.

Jo Dee has two hands-on classes for teens (13- to 17-years) on this calendar. The first is on Wednesday, July 23 at 10:00 a.m. when Teens Cook A Gourmet Meal ($40). We’ve had many requests for teen classes and we’re going to try a few. This one is a complete dinner menu including a Mixed Green Salad with a Home-Made Creamy Vinaigrette, Chicken Cordon Bleu, Potatoes au Gratin, Home-Made Yeast Rolls, and a made-from-scratch Cheesecake with Cherry Sauce for dessert. These are adult foods, but with teen palates in mind. It’s a winner.

On Monday, August 4 at 10:00 a.m. Jo Dee will be back in the kitchen with the young people as Teens Make High Quality Snacks ($38). This class features Pizza Tarts, Pinwheel Sandwiches, Yogurt Fruit Parfaits with Home-Made Granola, and a couple of other nourishing and tasty snacks for lunches or between-meal treats that teens will love to make!
