STEPHEN LEE, cookbook author, publisher, auctioneer, cooking teacher and long-time friend, is nationally recognized and known as the HerbMeister. An accepted authority on both growing and using culinary herbs, Stephen has two new classes on this schedule, and we’re looking forward to having him back in our kitchen.
On Thursday, July 24 at 6:30 p.m. Stephen will be Cooking With Mexican Spirit ($50) as together we discover Mexico’s distilled spirit as a cooking ingredient. We begin with Queso Flambé in Golden Tequila while our entrée of Broiled Halibut Margarita Style marinates. With the fish, we’ll enjoy Drunken Beans with Epazote and Mango Coleslaw. Our grand finale will be a Jalapeño Carrot Cake frosted with Tequila Cream Cheese Icing. Remember when cooking with Agave spirits that too many shots spoil the cooks. Olé!
On Monday, September 22 at 6:30 p.m. Stephen returns and he’s Falling For Veggies ($47). This meatless class celebrates the wonderful flavors of vegetables in all their beauty and intensity. We’ll start out with a Smoked Pecorino Romano & Cauliflower Soup served with Truffled Croutons, while Stephen prepares the Wild Mushroom Stroganoff served with freshly made Spinach Spaetzle. To accompany this, we’ll sample Garlicky Caramelized Carrots. And we’ll finish with Pears Baked in a Cognac Custard. You won’t want to miss either of these two classes from the HerbMeister.
